AlfaPOS Product Update – January 2026

We've added a few features we think you'll find useful, including a new way to run self-service checkouts and some improvements to make daily operations smoother.

Volume-based pricing

Starting this January, AlfaPOS fees adjust automatically based on your processing volume. As your business grows, your rate decreases – from 1% to as low as 0.6%. There’s nothing to request or negotiate; the adjustment happens automatically. The more you process, the less you pay per transaction.

New features

Kiosk mode

You can now lock AlfaPOS to the checkout screen, letting customers browse items and complete purchases without staff assistance. This frees up your team to focus on other tasks while the checkout handles itself. Works well for unattended setups, pop-up shops, events, or busy retail environments where customers prefer a quick self-service option.

Kiosk mode doesn’t require any monitoring or manual reset. When the customer completes the checkout or if they walk away mid-transaction, the screen will automatically reset after a period of inactivity, ready for the next sale. Auto-clear is live on iOS, coming to Android in the next days.

Reorder products on checkout

Rearrange the order of products and subscriptions on the checkout screen. Put your bestsellers at the top, group related items together, or organize things however makes sense for your workflow. Go to Settings → Checkout view to set it up. Reordering is live on iOS, coming to Android in the next days.

Simplified onboarding

Spend less time onboarding new team members. We cut down the steps and options in the onboarding process streamlining the flow and removing any guesswork.

In case you missed it

Internet-connected reader support

AlfaPOS now works with a range of internet-connected payment terminals: BBPOS WisePOS E, Stripe Reader S700 and S710, Verifone P400, V660p, UX700, M425, and P630. These readers connect over WiFi or Ethernet rather than Bluetooth, giving you more flexibility in how you set up your checkout – particularly useful for fixed counters or locations where a wired connection is more reliable.

Save cards for future charges

When enabled in Settings, customer cards are saved securely for later use. This is helpful for subscriptions, invoices, or any situation where you need to charge a customer again without asking for their card details. The feature follows Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements in Europe, which means subsequent payments are less likely to be declined or require extra verification from the customer.
